EuroFest in Wellington
Wellington is about to host EuroFest, the only event of its kind in New Zealand. EuroFest 2009, organised by the European Forum, will be held on Sunday, 17 May 2009, at the TSB Bank Arena, Queen’s Wharf, Wellington.
40 European communities, embassies and businesses (including of course Hungarian) will come together to showcase all things European ranging from cultural performances, arts, crafts and food through to European products and services.
The gold coin entry event will be open between 9am and 5pm. EuroFest 2009 is brought to the public by a dedicated volunteer network and is supported by chief sponsors Wellington City Council and the European Commission.
In the run-up to EuroFest, a European Poster Exhibition at Wellington Central Library, 3-17 May, offers a taste of what to expect.
The European Forum (founded by Paul Szentirmay) is a non-profit organisation of community groups in and around Wellington representing European immigrants and their descendants. The Forum has been sharing its European heritage with New Zealanders through various events, including the annual Kaleidoscope of European Carols for the last 16 years.
If you happen to be in Wellington, don't miss EuroFest, and come and say hello while you're there!
Mellesleg megjegyezném, hogy a GrabaSeat-en $68 egy Auckland-Wellington repülőjegy, így egyáltalán nem kivitelezhetetlen egy hétvégi kiruccanás a fővárosba.
